Cultivating scientific minds with a global perspective to pursue innovation in mathematical sciences

Project Objectives

1. Enhancing Tuition Support

By utilizing the donations as scholarships from the Master’s level onward, we aim to put in place an environment where students can devote themselves fully to their studies.

2. Nurturing individuals who will be active in a wide range of international fields

By using the donations to send graduate students and early-career researchers abroad as well as to invite outstanding faculty members from overseas, we aim to cultivate young researchers who will be active in a wide range of international fields.

3. Providing settings for education and research activities

We will stimulate education and research by utilizing the funds to cover facility costs and other expenses.

4. Contributing to society through the mathematical sciences

By utilizing the funds to support outreach activities in the mathematical sciences, we will keep the public informed about developments in contemporary mathematical science and broaden the opportunities for the use of mathematical science in society.

Dean’s Message

The Graduate School of Mathematical Sciences was established in 1992 as an independent graduate school integrating what until then had been separate mathematics seminars in the Faculty of Science and the College of Arts and Sciences, as well as the Department of Basic Sciences of the College of Arts and Sciences. The Graduate School of Mathematical Sciences as well as these organizational predecessors have trained students to have a solid foundation in mathematics. While maintaining this tradition, the Graduate School of Mathematical Sciences is pursuing in-depth dialogue between mathematics and other sciences, as well as wide-ranging collaboration between mathematics and industry. In this way, we are endeavoring to contribute to society by cultivating globally minded individuals who will drive innovation in the mathematical sciences.
